We started partnering with Tuqtuquilal since May 2024, and are honoured to represent their Mayan culture in South Africa by supplying our community with this incredible ceremonial-grade cacao from the northern Mayan lands of Guatemala.

Our founder Fran, stayed at Tuqtuquilal on one of her personal cacao pilgrimages and instantly connected with the cacao community.

Tuqtuquilal is a Mayan Q’eqchi word meaning “harmony” or “natural flow”, and this at the heart of the team, community and land which provide us with our special ceremonial-grade cacao from the northern jungle of Guatemala.

Based in the tropical rainforests of San Agustin Lanquin, Alta Verapaz, their regenerative center promotes community development for indigenous Maya through artisanal production, agroecology, ecotourism and education. They work to understand the wisdom that the land offers to repair the natural, economic, and social fabric that is embedded in the territory where Tuqtuquilal is located.

Their Cacao is crafted from a small collaborative of farming families that make up the Ratzum Cacao Network, which started as part of the community organisation process. Their vision is to inspire the world that our hearts know is possible – one of beauty, abundance and interconnectedness.
