This one of a kind statue is the representation of the Mayan Goddess of Chocolate (ixCacao), hand-carved in Bali by a local artist. A ceremony is performed before carving begins, giving thanks to the sacred wood.
IxCacao was worshipped as a fertility goddess with different names and different roles in the ancient cultures of MesoAmerica.
