It is an honour to be Ambassadors for LavaLove Cacao in South Africa, to assist in their mission to rescue the wisdom of ancient Mayan practices.

Our founder Fran has been initiated under the guidance of indigenous elders, Tata Izaias and Nana Izabel (founders of LavaLove Cacao), into the facilitation of sacred cacao and ceremony from the Mayan Cosmovision.

Tata and Nana personally oversee ever aspect of this sacred ceremonial-grade cacao which is harvested from Criollo cacao trees on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala.

They belong to a small selection of local indigenous families who grow and preserve this sort after variety with love and respect, in the area of Suchitepequez, Cerro de las Flores, which rest in the foothills of volcanoes Atitlan and Tolimán.

The indigenous community on the shores of sacred Lake Atitlan, where the Mayan Kaqchikel language is spoken, receive the cacao from the farmers and transform it into the paste we work with for ceremonies.

The consumption of ceremonial cacao is part of an ancient culture and traditions still alive in these communities.

We share a viewpoint that this ancient wisdom which cacao holds can be beneficially shared by others when the sacredness is respected. Cacao can therefore be an ally for teachers, ceremonialists and artist who want to incorporate the heart medicine in their personal activities and service in the world.
